Join Cheltenham YMCA for our relaxed, informal, indoor walking football sessions – open to anyone interested adults of any age and ability. All the rules are the same but with one big difference, you can only walk, no running, no sprinting – just walking!
Walking football is a new concept on the traditional game. The idea behind walking football is for people to get back into the game but without the requirement to sprint and run over long distances within a ‘full speed’ game.
Who is Walking Football for?
Walking football is open to anyone who has a love of the beautiful game – but perhaps just can’t run around anymore. You may have played football a number of years ago, may have recently retired from playing due to the physical demands of the game or you may be recovering from illness or injury. Walking football allows you to continue or re-join the game as it takes place at a much slower pace.
When/Where will Walking Football take place?
Walking football will start on Thursday October 2nd 2014 between 12.30-1.30pm at Cheltenham YMCA Sports Centre, Arle Road Cheltenham.
Please wear non-marking trainers and comfortable, general sportswear.
What will it cost to play Walking Football?
The session cost is currently £4.00. YMCA is a membership based organisation and adult annual membership is £25.00 per year and annual membership for concessions (incl. over 60s) is £20.00.
How can I get involved?
Just come along to the session on a Thursday at 12.30pm and see if you like it! Please telephone Cheltenham YMCA Sports Centre on 01242 515815.
