HOUSING OFFICER

Hours:  20 hours per week dependent upon candidate

Location: Cheltenham & Gloucester

We are currently seeking a great candidate to fulfil this key role at YMCA Cheltenham.

You will be required to assist with all aspects of day to day housing management over three sites in Gloucester and Cheltenham, whilst respecting the Christian ethos of the YMCA and upholding its values in your work.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge

We are looking for:

  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages (essential)
  • An interest in the work and ethos of YMCA Cheltenham (essential)
  • Housing Management
Skills

We are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Organised, able to manage his/her own workload and motivated (essential)
  • Reliable and responsible (essential)
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (essential)
  • Ability to balance business management of housing operation whilst managing a quality caring service where residents come first.
  • A flexible approach to work
  • An effective team worker (essential)
  • Friendly and pleasant (essential)
Experience

You will need to have:

  • At least two years’ experience in a housing support/management or appropriate alternative role (essential)
  • Experience of dealing with residents over the telephone and in person (essential)
Qualifications:
  • A level standard (essential)
  • Additional housing training (desirable)
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary £10,400 per annum based on 20hrs per week.
  • 20 days’ annual leave pro rata (rising to max 25 days’ based on length of service), plus recognised Public Holidays

ASSISTANT SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER

Hours: 37.5 hours per week dependent upon candidate
Location: Cheltenham

It’s exciting, challenging and has many rewards.  We look for team players with passion who will help to drive the organisation forward making it stronger to help improve the lives of everyone associated with it.  We are currently seeking a great candidate to fulfil this key role at YMCA Cheltenham.

You will be required to assist the Senior Support Worker in providing first line management and lead a team of housing support staff, whilst actively supporting and respecting the Christian ethos of the YMCA and upholding its values.

The Assistant Senior Support Worker will assist in managing a high quality housing support service, through the provision of accommodation with support, to help prevent and eradicate homelessness, in an environment which is safe and supportive to all those involved.

  • Social care qualification, eg NVQ/HNC or a commitment to attain NVQ 3 Health and Social Care within agreed timescale.
